Abraj Kudai – Mekkah, KSA
The development aims to create a large and exclusive residential, commercial complex, including a 5 star hotel distributed over 11 towers with all related services for the visitors of the Holy Haram, with a podium that gathers all the towers. The concept of the project is developed upon the hierarchy of the modules of classical architectural order representing several iconic features crowned by the central dome, with the dome itself representing an iconic crown composed of 7 intersecting crescents.
Working with Dar Al Handasah, Nader Gebran developed tower 6 which is in the central crowned edifice including a ballroom and convention centre at the top. The project was hugely complex including the development of plans, skin teams, and interior architect liaison with Frank Nickelson who handled the design of the project.
SUSTAINABILITY – Abraj Kudai identified sustainability as one of its guiding principles throughout the design phase, the project therefore meets the requirement to be LEED Certified for new construction and major renovation.
